People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.

A true soul mate is probably the most important person you’ll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.

A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life.

Never follow anyone else’s path, unless you’re in the woods and you’re lost and you see a path; then, by all means, you should follow that path.

So I just signed up for Pinterest. I enjoy all the new media outlets to create on. I find the idea of repining very clever because its a different way to look at all of the things you enjoy in a very organized fashion. Very different from a blog where you usually see your most recent work first. It becomes harder to find things on my blog when it is over 100 pages. I find the idea of repining very clever because its a different way to look at all of the things you enjoy in a very organized fashion. Very different from a blog where you usually see your most recent work first. However I find it far more interesting and unique when people put up some of their original work, experiences, photos, and writing out there for the world to see. I really appreciate it when people write about their own thoughts about an article idea rather than someone reblogging or posting something they wish they could do. Don’t get me wrong, I still love the platform and find myself actually becoming addicted.. but throw some of your own things in there and I bet you will enjoy your boards even more.

One of my favorite quotes. Not everyone is good at the same things or has the same interests. People who understand what their interests are and can respect others are one step ahead of the crowd. High-res

“Maybe mistakes are what make our fate… without them what would shape our lives? Maybe if we had never veered off course we wouldn’t fall in love, have babies, or be who we are. After all, things change, so do cities, people come into your life and they go. But it’s comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart… and if you’re very lucky, a plane ride away.” - Sex and the City High-res

May your coming year be filled with magic and dreams and good madness. I hope you read some fine books and kiss someone who thinks you’re wonderful, and don’t forget to make some art — write or draw or build or sing or live as only you can. And I hope, somewhere in the next year, you surprise yourself.– Neil Gaiman High-res

And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.

I’ve learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way (s)he handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.
